The former president said he had a lot of respect for Mr. Adjei because he defended his beliefs and was not materialistic.

Describing Adjei as a fighter during a visit to his family at his Agbogba residence in the suburbs of Accra on Monday, March 18, 2019, Mr. Rawlings said the deceased was very sad and disappointed many things.

"Adjei was disappointed with our weaknesses as a party. He was disappointed with the politics of our party and the fact that he had been monetized and held hostage. He was hurt by the loss of the party's value systems, "said Rawlings.

The former president urged the family to stay strong and united during this difficult time and expressed hope that his children will carry some of his fighting spirit.

Associate of the former president and good friend of Dr. Adjei, Dr. Anthony Dzegede, who knew Dr. Adjei since childhood in Nigeria, said as a thinker and philosopher that it was natural that Dr. Adjei become a politician.

Mr. Dzegede described Adjei as a genius with bright, witty ideas and full of insinuations full of humor.

The late Dr. Adjei chaired the party from 2005 to 2014. He previously had a rich political history and served in various capacities under the PNDC and NDC governments.
