Minority leader in parliament Haruna Iddrisu said NDC lawmakers would boycott President Akufo-Addo’s inauguration for a second term if a recollection of parliamentary results in Techiman South is not carried out.
He told Joy News that headquarters’ statement in favor of the NPP’s Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah was fraudulent and that they would not let him stand.
“We are in denial by collusion of fraud on the part of the Electoral Commission and the NPP. This is not acceptable, you know they are just joking with Techiman South, add it to their count and claim a fake 137 that they don’t deserve their 136, ”Mr Iddrisu said.
Tamale South MP further called on the EC to openly collect Techiman South results amicably and satisfactorily in accordance with Ghanaian law.
He stressed that the NDC wants “results from Techiman Sud before January 7, by all means necessary”.
“If the results of Techiman Sud are not resolved amicably and satisfactorily in accordance with the laws of Ghana and in particular Regulation 43 of CI 127 and a collation more categorical than open and transparent by EC and we remain in the denial that we don’t have the results for Techiman South, we will think about what to do on January 7, ”he said.
Mr. Iddrissu added that he would only go to court if the result had been given to him and he was not satisfied with it, but this is where the case is where he was denied the results because Techiman South therefore has nothing to do.
“In this particular case, I was denied the results, so what am I going to go to court with? With tomatoes and then oranges? He asked.
Meanwhile, NDC parliamentary candidate for Techiman South Christopher Baayire said the NDC won the seat by more than 700 votes. He said a simple re-collation will reveal that NDC won.
“The minimum result per hour is around 700 per difference vote for Parliament of which we have the pink sheets available. Why do they insist that they wouldn’t do a collation or re-collation like they did Banda two to three times? “
He called on stakeholders to note that events at Techiman South could escalate if global stakeholders, the Peace Council and the Christian Council do not intervene.
“We expect all the global stakeholders, the Peace Council and the Christian Council to note that this is something that has just started small and we expect that if they do not enter. not, something bad could happen in Techiman, ”he said.
Baayire insisted that the right thing be done or that the NDC fight it to the last extremity, adding that the protest at Techiman South will not end until the right thing is done.
“As we speak now, there is a protest at Techiman, isn’t there?” Yes, and it won’t stop. We are not going to allow the fight that we are not doing collation and bringing in the army, ”he said.
