The National Democratic Congress (NEC) finally seems to have confidence in the activities of the National Identification Authority (NIA), ordering its members to register for the Ghana card.

The Ghana Card is the new national identity card.

On July 23, 2018, NDC had ordered its members not to sign up for the Ghana Card until its request for inclusion of the ID card from the Ghana Card would be complete. elector among the criteria for registration is met.

The NIA had baderted that the voter ID cards were not valid for the acquisition of the Ghana Card, but the NDC, through its Secretary General, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, had insisted that that, without the inclusion of the voter's card, its members would not register.

Interestingly, even though the NIA has maintained its position, the NDC has turned around, urging its members to register now.

The decision, according to DGN Online, was taken at the recent meeting of the NDC National Executive Committee.

Information excerpts from the meeting available to DGN Online read as follows: "Members (NEC members) were urged to inform party members to register under Ghana Card."

It is still unclear what has changed if the NDC has chosen to cancel its decision not to register which was highly criticized.
