NDC has opened applications from Wednesday, July 10 to Friday, July 12, 2019
Three members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Jomoro district, western region, have chosen nomination forms to participate in the party's next parliamentary primaries.
The party has opened nominations from Wednesday, July 10 to Friday, July 12, 2019.
On Friday, at the closing of the nominations, two men and a woman of the party chose nomination forms to be able to present themselves at the party office in Half Assini.
They include Nda Blay Armah, Dorcas Afo Toffey and Francis Akatia Kwaidoo.
The party's party secretary, Henry Woku Anlimah, informed the media at the party's office after the nominations, congratulating the three party members for their interest in recovering Jomoro's siege for the party.
Woku Anlimah was optimistic that the NDC would take over the Jomoro headquarters in 2020.
"Jomoro is our headquarters since 1992. It is in 2016 that we lost at the NPP, but in 2020 we will resume it.In 2016, we made mistakes but we corrected and we will recover the seat. " , he said.
He therefore advised the followers of these three aspirants to behave before the primaries.
The secretary reminded the three candidates of the following calendars and complied with them.
They include: Submission of applications – July 18 to 19, 2019, Vetting: July 24 to 25, 2019, Petition: July 26 to 27, 2019, Appeals: July 29 to 31, 2019 and Elections: August 24, 2019.
He wished good luck to the three aspirants and prayed that they would spend the rest of the process.
He urges all riding leaders to remain neutral and respect the party's guidelines and constitution.
Nda Blay Armah and Francis Akatia Kwaidoo clashed at the 2015 NDC parliamentary primaries in Jomoro and lost.
In 2016, the CND lost the seat of Jomoro to the NPP for the first time since 1992. Paul Essien won the seat for the NPP with 18,694, representing 39.49%. against the NDC candidate, Thomas Yankey, who fired 14,241, represents 30.08%.
