Alban Bagbin Warn Alban Bagbin, NDC flag bearer full of hope

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) announced on Wednesday the voting order for the election of its flag bearer, the second vice-speaker of Parliament and hope-bearing flag Alban Bagbin getting first place.

Nurudeen Iddrisu took 2nd place with former President John Mahama, Sly Mensah, Spio Garbrah, Goosie Tanoh and Joshua Alabi, qualifying for the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th places.

The election to be held on Saturday, January 26 was postponed until February 23 to allow the party to settle the dispute against him by two injured party members.

Party members Abdullah Issah and James Kabu Nartey-Oman filed a lawsuit against the party last December for violating the party's presidential primary guidelines.

Sending out to reporters shortly after the party announced the voting order, Alban Bagbin said the number of votes made him the one elected in the race for who leads the NDC in the 2020 general election.

"I chose number one and everyone knows that number one means first and the first means the highest and that's the best.

I am very … very confident that this is the winning position. This will have an impact on the elections. That's why it's the winning position. This has a serious impact because if you are not the best, you will never be the first, "he said.

Meanwhile, the criminal chamber of the Accra High Court presided over by judge Mensah Datsa adopted the terms of the settlement in the case in which the two members of the injured party obtained an injunction to terminate the presidential primaries.

Last Monday, the court accepted a request from the NDC to settle the case amicably and bring the results to court.

The parties filed the terms of settlement agreed upon in accordance with the court's instructions, which were adopted as a consent judgment.

The court then dismissed the case as withdrawn.
