Former President John Mahama
Former President John Dramani Mahama badured delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NEC) that the party would pay attention to the hard work and loyalty it will win in the 2020 general election.
Addressing NDC delegates to Dzolokpuita in Ho West constituency on Monday to begin his week-long campaign tour around the flag in the Volta region, Mr. Mahama said: "A system will be set up to identify the members who work and to reward them accordingly. "
He decried the situation in the past when members of the constituency executive and party leaders had lobbied for their relatives to hold government positions while neglecting the party's hard-working members.
Mahama said, "Such things will not happen again in the next NDC government."
He instructed the party's regional and constituency leaders to begin identifying the hardest-working members of the party to reward them when the time comes.
Mahama said it is only thanks to his hard work and vigilance that the NDC will come to power. He urged members and supporters of the party to work hard for victory in the 2020 election.
In the upcoming NDC flag election, Mahama called on delegates to support him wholeheartedly, saying the NDC could not afford to defeat Ghanaians by 2020.
He said that when he is elected president, he will work tirelessly to reduce the high cost of living and create jobs.
