Haruna Iddrisu, leader of the minority and MP for Tamale South in the northern region of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), predicted that the NDC would win 70 percent of the seats in parliament in the 2020 general election.
He said he is confident that the electorate will vote for the general election of former President John Dramani Mahama in the 2020 general election, in order to allow him to continue his good deeds, the government current failed to keep its many promises made to the electorate.
Mr. Iddrisu said this when he submitted his nomination forms to contest the Tamale-South constituency of Tamale's constituency office last Thursday.
The leader of the minority will not oppose and this will be his fifth time to represent the people of Tamale South in Parliament when he wins the 2020 general election.
Resumption of lost parliamentary seats
Iddrisu, who had media relations after filing his candidacy as a single candidate, said the party was also on the verge of reclaiming some or all of the parliamentary seats lost in the 2016 general elections in the region. North.
He mentioned the parliamentary seats that the party was likely to find under the names Savelugu, Nanton, Saboba, Tolon, Wulensi, Bimbilla and Gushegu, which the party lost to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2016 general election. .
He reiterated that voters were ready to vote for the CND to form the next government following the catastrophic performance of the current government.

Mr Iddrisu said that he was working on consolidating Tamale South's parliamentary seat as one of the top 10 parliamentary seats in the country for the NDC.
"I am working on consolidating the Tamale South constituency for the NDC, which is apparent in the Manhyia constituency of the NPP of Ashanti region," he said.
Context
In the 2016 general election, Iddrisu retained the seat of parliament in Tamale South with 52,235 votes, or 72.56 percent, while his other nominees Yakubu Yussif of the NPP won 18,932 votes, or 26, 30%, Abdul-Jalilu Kbadim of the People's Party of the Convention. (PPC) obtained 625 votes, or 0.87%, while Abdadallah Alhbadan Goudi, of the National People's Convention (PNC), got 198 votes, or 0.27%.
In presidential elections in the Tamale South constituency, Mr. John Mahama, then president and presidential candidate of the CND, won by 51,839 votes, or 71.95%, while the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, then candidate for the presidency of the NPP in power obtained 19,049 votes, or 26.44%.
Papa Kwesi Nduom of the Progressive People's Party, which won 798 votes, Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, People's Party of the Convention, 163 votes, Edward Mahama, National People's Convention, 101 votes, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, National Democratic Party, 65 votes and Jacob Osei Yeboah, independent candidate, got 36 votes.
