John Dramani Mahama
Former President John Dramani Mahama said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would remain vigilant despite its love for peace.
In what he described as a notice to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) party, Mahama said the NDC would resist the MPP thugs in the upcoming popular power elections.
S addressing many NDC supporters in the Volta region before the NDC flag bearer primaries, Mr. Mahama said, "Look what happened to Ayawaso West Wuogon. know. And yet, at Ayawaso West Wuogon, the guys were wild and our police department could not control them. Rather, they gave orders to our people.
He added: "… The main responsibility for security in any election in Ghana is the IGP, it is not the invincible Forces, it is not the Delta Forces.
"Anyway, go read the Constitution, the duty of the National Security Council is not to control a force, they coordinate the existing security services. They are not supposed to have thugs dressed in police uniforms using police vehicles and firing bullets on our innocent citizens. "
"And we are sending an opinion: the Deputy Minister of National Security said they were responsible for their deployment. We serve them an opinion: they will never again deploy such force in any election in Ghana. We will resist it. You have never seen armed people flee before. When the power of the people will follow you, you will run. We are for peace, but to enjoy peace you must be vigilant and vigilant. We must defend our democracy. This is the philosophy of "all-die-be-die-die" at work. We will not accept "all-die-be-die-die" in this country. And when leaders advise, they should advise those who unleash violence, not me. "
