He tells,

1. Mr. Tekpli remains in Ho and works in Dakpa, Akatsi North District, and according to his own account of what happened to the inhabitants of the Amule community at Akatsi North, he was attacked in Ho by Unknown badailants who tried to snatch his bag, he was slapped and stabbed when he refused to let go of the bag.

2. Mr. Tekpli reported the case to Ho police and was sent for treatment at a hospital, also in Ho, where he was treated and released.

3. Edem Tekpli then went to Amule where he spent several days.

4. Mr Tekpli then went to Accra for a medical examination at the request of a benefactor, a potential candidate in Parliament, who had sent a vehicle to pick him up in Accra.

It should be noted that the entire Amule community is surprised to learn that the attack on Mr. Edem Tekpli has become a political affair contrary to what he told them.

"At no time did the police say that the attack on him had been perpetrated within his own party. So we should not create this impression when there is none.

"The NDC Volta Section wishes to take this opportunity to empathize with Mr. Edem Tekpli and wish him a speedy recovery. We ask everyone not to badign unfounded reasons for Mr. Tekpli's attack while we all wait for the report from the Ghana Police Service. "
