His comment follows the appointment of Jean Mensa and three other commissioners by President Akufo. dismissal of Charlotte Osei and her two deputies
President Nana Akufo-Addo appointed, on Monday, July 23, 2018, Mrs. Jean Mensa, Executive Director of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), to the post of The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana
The new members are a lecturer in Political Science at the University of Ghana, Dr. Eric Asare Bossman, and Samuel Tettey, Director of Electoral Services in charge of elections to the Electoral Commission .  Auss Adjoa Esuama Abrefa, a corporate lawyer, was selected as a member of the commission.
NDC members criticized the President's decision, accusing him of endowing the Commission with pro-MPP sympathizers. They also questioned the timing of the appointment as this follows a number of petitions filed before the Court regarding the dismissal of former EC President Charlotte Osei and her deputies

The deputy youth organizer who seeks to be re-elected alleged that "Jean Mensa is a member of the NPP and that it comes elections for the nuclear power plant in 2020."
"Mr. host, if we come to power in 2020, we will dismiss all EC officials because we can not work with them, they are members of the NPP, "he added.
