Michael Kpessah Whyte, former executive director of the National Service Scheme, has once again failed in his attempt to represent the opposition Democratic National Congress in Shai Osudoku's constituency as a candidate for Parliament.

He was unable to defeat outgoing MP Linda Ocloo at the party's parliamentary primaries held on Saturday.

Linda Ocloo has collected 825 votes and Dr. Whyte 263.

Another contender, David Assumeng, also won 28 votes.

Kpessah Whyte challenged Ms. Ocloo for the first time in June 2016, but lost in a by-election to choose a parliamentary candidate. Her husband, Desmond William Ocloo, died in a tragic accident in Juaso, in the Ashanti region, in March 2016. He was elected.

She won the general elections in December 2016.
