Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, minority spokesman for foreign affairs, announced that a future government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would trigger an extradition process from Aisha Huang to Ghana.

Ablakwa's revelation comes from Ghanaian Prime Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo's attempt to justify his decision to stop the prosecution of Aisha Huang for illegally operating a mine in Ghana.

Aisha Huang was deported to China, her home country, at the end of last year.

At a public meeting abroad, Osafo Marfo declared forcefully that imprisoning the "Galamsey Queen" would not have solved Ghana's enormous economic problems.

"Today, the main company that contributes to the development of the infrastructure system in Ghana is Sinohydro, it is a Chinese company. It's the one that will help us deal with our bauxite and provide us with about $ 2 billion, "he said.

"So when there is this kind of arrangement, there are other things behind the scenes. Put this lady [Aisha] in prison in Ghana will not solve your economic problems.

"It's not going to make you happy, nor me happy, it's not important, the most important thing is that she was expelled from Ghana …", he added.

Commenting on Saturday's evolution in News File, Mr Ablakwa said that former President Mahama had decided to extradite Aisha Huang to Ghana to face all the rigors of Ghana's law.

"I say it with the support of my flag-bearer [former President Mahama] and my party that the NDC will trigger the extradition of Aisha Huang to face prosecution in the future NDC government, "he said.
