Nearly 3 million registered for Ghana Card

The National Authority of Identification (NIA) has declared to have registered 2,902,526 Ghanaians eligible for the Ghana Card in the regions of Greater Accra, Volta and Oti since the date of death. registration began on June 4 of last year.

According to the report, 2,590,526 cards had been printed and 1,718,021 cards had been issued to claimants in the three regions by 14 September 2019.

NIA General Manager Francis Palmdeti told the Ghana Press Agency in Accra on Sunday that 556,559 people had been registered in the Volta region, with 523,984 printed cards and 395,175 issued. as of September 14, 2019.

In the Oti region, he said, 387,057 people have been registered, 236,348 cards have been printed and 187,643 cards have been issued since the start of registration in this region on August 22, 2019.

Mr Palmdeti said that the mbad registration exercise had ended on Saturday, 14 September in the Oti region.

However, all registration centers with cards waiting for cards will continue to be printed and distributed to candidates from Monday 16th to Friday 20th September.

He added that the registration centers of the Volta region where the cleaning was carried out will also continue to issue printed cards to the candidates of the centers that they registered from Monday, September 16 to Friday, September 20, but no new registration will be made.
