MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A shocking story to Mobile, especially in light of the extremely hot weather we had.

The mobile police say that a four-month-old baby was found inside a locked vehicle on Bloodgood Street in downtown Mobile.

They say that the child was left inside during the night for about 12 hours.

Jermius Scott said he saw the baby around 9:00 am Sunday morning in a black car parked in front of a building.

Scott said that he had seen the same car about five hours earlier, but this time, when he went out to eat, he saw a baby inside.

"So I really used my elbow to break the window." Seeing the baby turn purple in this car, I could not leave this baby in there like that, man. "It's completely wrong."

Tarance James says that he was inside when Scott called for him to get out there.

James said, "So when we got there, we looked in the car and we thought," Oh, there was a baby there. It's hot, we must hurry to get it out. So when we saw that, he hit him with his elbow, unlocked the door, pulled the baby out. "

Both said that the baby was conscious and did not cry, but sweated a lot.

The child has been rushed to the hospital and is doing well now.

They say that the child was supposed to be dependent on his father since the previous night.

Police said the human resources managers were contacted and reacted.

Scott and James say that they are happy that the baby is going well.

Scott said, "I do not know who it was and I do not want to know because, you know, you're not supposed to hate anyone, but it's a heinous situation."

James said, "So, I just pray that the baby is fine and hope nothing like this will ever happen again."

The police clbadified the case as "reckless endangerment", but there is no indication that there has been an arrest or an identity.

They say that the case is still under investigation.
