Neil Gaiman is working on restarting the storyteller

The myths and legends of the past are coming back for a new generation. Fremantle and the Jim Henson Company announced their collaboration with Neil Gaiman to bring back The narrator– A series of anthologies that gives life to traditional tales with puppets.

Fremantle is spearheading a "reinvented" version of The narrator, a series of anthologies created in 1987. She adapted clbadic European tales, with John Hurt in the role of the elf storyteller, inspired by Lisa, the daughter of Jim Henson, who studied folklore and mythology at university.

According to the press release, this new version will create its own mystical world combining different fairy tales and myths. And with Gaiman at the helm – an adapted folklore and myths of various cultures, including with American gods and Anansi Boys"This reinvented version will likely extend beyond European folklore to a wide range of stories and myths from around the world.

No planned release date has been announced for Tthe storyteller. However, the second season of American gods to debut on March 10, and Good omens is coming out later this year. The company Jim Henson is also working on the prequel series for The dark crystal, which should be out sometime this year.
