A mobile video game reconciliation with Stranger Things will appear next year, Netflix unveiling more about its Dark Crystal strategy game.
Game Overview: Zelda: Link's Awakening is a legend of the old school
The new Stranger Things game for iOS and Android will be a "location-based" puzzle and was revealed at an E3 panel in Lost Angeles, alongside other new video games derived from Netflix.
"We are excited to partner with Next Games, based in Helsinki, Finland, who designed this hybrid puzzle game based on location technology," said Chris Lee, director of Interactive Games at Netflix. "It means that no matter where you are in the world, you can fight and fight the world upside down, even in your backyard."
No gameplay has yet been shown, although the description resembles that of Pokémon GO, which uses GPS and augmented reality to "capture" a pokemon in the real world.
"They have developed this amazing retro cartoon style of the 80s Saturday morning that we absolutely fell in love with," said Lee, as he discussed the artistic direction of the game.
The Next Games mobile game developer specializes in the use of Pokémon AR technology in the manner of GO. He has already created the popular game The Walking Dead: Our World, which uses location-based RA to give the impression that you're fighting zombies in your real-life surroundings.
The new mobile game Stranger Things will be released in 2020.
The game comes as the streaming service seeks to increase their presence in the video game market by transforming their original television shows and movies into games. "What we are looking for are opportunities to expand the universe of these shows and films to other media," Lee said. "And for me, it was really obvious to try to do that with video games."
Netflix also revealed new details on the already announced game Stranger Things 3: The Game, which will be released for Nintendo Switch on July 4, during the third season of the series. But they also planned a new Dark Crystal game, which was unveiled during the Nintendo Direct stream at E3 2019.
Stranger Things 3: The Game is a 16-bit-inspired adventure designed to take advantage of the third season of the series, as well as to explore Hawkins' extended world. "We call it Season ++," said Dave Pottinger of BonusXP developer. "We give people the content of the series, but we give them as much, if not more, content in the game. We do not want people to play the game and feel that there is nothing new discovered."
The game will offer local sofa cooperation so you can play the game with your friends in split screen mode and use a simple drop / drop option to participate in fun activities and solve quests around the city. Hawkins.
Fans will take on the role of the series 'main favorite characters, including Eleven, who did not star in Stranger Things' first mobile game, as it takes place between seasons 1 and 2, when the location of the character is unknown. .
"She's definitely the most powerful character in the game," Pottinger revealed. He also explained that the attack in Eleven's game will be a psychic thrust, with a special Nuke ability and an improvement of "Cap of Thought", which will increase the power of his psychic thrust and decrease the energy needed to its use.
Meanwhile, Netflix also revealed details on the Dark Crystal game announced in the Nintendo Direct E3 feed, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics. The game will be released later in 2019 and is based on the upcoming Netflix series, which is itself a sequel to the 1982 Jim Henson fantasy film.

Stephanie Wise, director of digital and interactive media at The Henson Company, revealed that the game would expand the world that fans already know in the original movie, "We work in tandem. We gave them a lot of badets, and we give them even more, as we work with Netflix to finalize the show …. So that we can make sure the game looks and looks like the show and the movie. "
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics will be a turn-based strategy game that looks like the clbadic game Final Fantasy Tactics. "It was a great marriage between this world and the kind of gameplay we were known for at the time: we have a lot of people working on Microsoft's Age of Empires," added Pottinger, "Strategy is kind of in our blood.
