Muscat – A new case of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) has been recorded in Oman.
The Ministry of Health has so far reported six cases in various parts of the country since the beginning of 2019.
The patient who has been diagnosed with the viral disease has received the necessary medical treatment.
The ministry said that monitoring the situation through the epidemiological surveillance system and hospitals in Oman are able to handle such cases.
He urged citizens and residents to comply with preventive measures to control the infection and to cover the nose and mouth when sneezing.
