WOMEN AND CHILDREN flee the district of Chereponi in the Northeast region following further clashes between Konkombas and Chokosis. Reports indicate that farmland and products owned by residents of some of the affected communities have been burned to the ground, leading to hunger.
Some security personnel have had to save women and children in trouble with food and water.
The Chereponi District Police Commander was to provide water for the appetizing and hungry children who were fleeing the area with their mothers.
Some families have fled to neighboring Togo and communities that are not affected by the clashes for security.
DGN Onlinerealized that pregnant women in some disadvantaged communities in Chereponi District could not access any health facilities because of the violence.
Reports revealed that several communities were burned.
Up to now, four people have been arrested in connection with the resumption of violence.
The suspects were arrested in two different areas with single-barrel weapons and arrested for contributing to investigations.
The clashes allegedly resulted in the death of one person by unknown badailants.
Jababu Fuad, 22, is currently being treated at the Chereponi Public Hospital.
DGN Online have become aware of the intensification of police and army patrols in some communities in the Chereponi District of the Northeast Region.
