In an update released Friday, the Ministry of Health said the new case was discovered in the conflict-ravaged Beni region.

The announcement came just three days after the ministry announced "major progress," saying the outbreak appeared to be under control in the Beni region.
More than 500 people have died since the outbreak of the deadly haemorrhagic virus last year in August in the North Kivu region, on the border of Uganda and Rwanda.
Beni was particularly touched, counting for 118 deaths.
Despite the welcome progress, the ministry warned that Beni was at risk from neighboring areas of Katwa and Butembo, where many new cases were reported this month.
In the past 21 days, 58 cases have been confirmed in Katwa and 16 in Butembo, the ministry said.
So far, 536 people have died as a result of the Ebola outbreak that occurred on August 1.
As part of a program launched a week later, 82,583 people were vaccinated against the disease, including nearly two-thirds in Beni, Katwa and Butembo.
An outbreak can only be declared over when the country has not registered any new cases of Ebola for 42 consecutive days.
International health experts have helped in eastern DRC, but efforts to contain the disease have been hampered by violence in the region, where militia groups are endemic.
