FAIRWAY, KS (KCTV) – Jackson County wants you to know more about how it determines your property taxes. On Thursday, they posted a video on the county's website explaining the fairness and accuracy of the process.
This is the cartoon that Jackson County has bought so that you feel better about higher property taxes. The price is just under $ 2,000. This is according to the production company that made it. That number made us leave, "oh really."
That's the same amount the country could have paid for MLS data that could have produced clearer results, but instead they bought the cartoon.
In a new video, Jackson County explains how badessments work.
"When you hear the term" appraiser ", he seems to think of a scary person who takes his wallet, that is not the case."
KCTV5 News did more than a dozen reports because we discovered such a mess. The ratings are incredibly uneven. The video claims the opposite.

The owners and county figures tell a different story. Here's how they explain why houses have different values evaluated.

And of course, KCTV5 News has met with hot dog owners who have declared paying for a steak. And if we stick to the theme of the restaurant, we have encountered the wrong order.
The valuation of Sherre Wichman does not have the correct information regarding square footage.
"The study of things like area, age and location allows the appraisers to determine how far another property is comparable to yours."
The pre-produced video fails to mention a record number of homeowners who appeal to the value of their property. Even the board does not know how it will handle all the complaints.
"The only things that an appraiser hunt for is fairness and equity and they take great pride in it."
It is worth repeating this drawing, which is very pretty and can be purchased in Spanish, has the same price as full MLS data that was not used in this evaluation. Many think that it was a mistake.
