A tourist triggered a measles alert after boarding two domestic flights – Tiger Airways and Jetstar – while he was infected with the disease.

According to NSW Health, the onset of symptoms after exposure to a person with measles can take up to 18 days. People must pay attention to symptoms until July 20th.

Dr. Sheppeard said two doses of measles vaccine provided lifetime protection for 99 out of every 100 people vaccinated.

"It's free for people born during or after 1966 who have not already received two doses. If you do not know if you have taken two doses, you can take another one safely. "

Measles is highly contagious and spreads in the air by a cough or sneeze by a sick person.
