A survey of popular YouTube videos in 2019 reveals the keywords badociated with the largest number of views.
The Pew Research Center has released an badysis of every YouTube video created by high-traffic subscriber channels during the first week of 2019.
For the purposes of this study, a large number of subscribers is defined as a channel with at least 250,000 subscribers. There are at least 43,770 channels with as many subscribers.
The badysis of the study is divided into three parts, but I will go to the third, because it is the one that is most closely related to SEO.
The third part of the report focuses on keywords in video titles and descriptions badociated with more views.
YouTube keywords with the most views
The Pew Research Center has defined a list of 20 keywords in the YouTube video titles badociated with the largest increase in median views.
Here are the top 20 keywords in the order:
- Fortnite
- RAMS
- Vase
- Rainbow
- Prank call
- Worst
- NFL
- Makeup
- Moment
- False
- While eating
- PubG
- NBA
- Ultimate
- Hack
- FIFA
- Player
- Mystery
- Foolish
- Roblox
In particular, the keyword "Fortnite" was badociated with the largest increase in views of all the words examined in the study. It was also the most common of the 20 most viewed words.
By examining the keywords used in YouTube titles and video descriptions, the study found another common practice among major subscriber channels.
Seven out of ten videos are linked to other social media platforms. The most frequently cited social platforms were Twitter (58% of all videos), Facebook (51%), Instagram (50%) and Snapchat (9%).
From this data, the study concludes that the mention of other social media platforms is badociated with a higher number of views.
