New Ya Na promises to be fair to all

The new king of Dagbon, Naa Abubakari Mahama II, is committed to ensure peaceful coexistence between different groups of the state.

Through Vo-Naa Bawa, the new Ya Na promised to treat all people equitably and to continue the peace process to restore the lost glory of Dagbon.

"During my reign as Dagbon's overlord, I count with the support of Dagbon's leaders and locals to eliminate outdated customs and eliminate bottlenecks in our constitution.

"This will guarantee the peace and rapid development of Dagbon. I declare that I will be just and fair in my reign of Dagbon. I will do justice to all kinds of people in Dagbon, whether they are Dagomba or Anufu; Asante or Kokomba; Moshi or Hausa; Abudu or Andani. Let me badure all of this for the rest of my active lie, I will be dedicated to serving Dagbon, "said Ya Na through his spokesman.

The inauguration of Naa Abubakari, which ended a few hours ago, opens a new page of peace, unity and prosperity for a kingdom that has known for nearly two decades of conflict, mistrust and a development.

Before President Akufo Addo, former president Mahama, the heads of various clans and thousands of people, the 70 years was outdoors, making him the 44th person to occupy Nam's skin and Gbewaa's palace.

He should lead the process of fully reconciling the two gates – Abudu and Andani -, ensuring peace and unity in the traditional region and further promoting the kingdom's development.

The president, who was in the inauguration, stressed the need for the new king to work for the reunification of all groups related to the skin of Dagbon.

"I call all the sons and daughters of Dagbon to unite behind the new Ya Na. He is a man of experience and dignity and I am confident that he will perform duties of his new position with distinction.

"The enkinsment Ya Na Mahama Abukari II is the act of the Lord and is wonderful to us. Give him all the support he needs to undertake administer Dagbon's business, "said the president.
