The Jet Blue flight from Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic, was quarantined after two pbadengers had signs and symptoms of the highly infectious viral disease. Fright is the latest in the United States, which has recently peaked in people with the contagious disease. More than 700 students and staff from two California universities were quarantined Friday, fearing they had contracted the disease – an increase of about 400 from the day before, according to the New York Times.
US President Donald Trump urged Americans to "get vaccinated" as measles cases spread throughout the country.
He told reporters outside the White House: "Vaccinations are so important."
The vaccination rate is steadily declining in the United States, with many parents opposing it for philosophical or religious reasons.
Meanwhile, some groups known as "anti-vaxxers" strangely claim that lifesaving injections are the cause of autism in children.
