Newcastle would consider a move for Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen this summer – could he replace Ayoze Perez?
According to The Chronicle, Newcastle would have discussed the possibility of being named Bowen via Steve Hitch, Steve Bruce having directed it earlier in Hull.
Newcastle has already broken his record of transfers this summer to bring Joelinton from Hoffenheim for £ 40m, but they could still look to add new options.
Ayoze Perez scored 13 goals and three badists in all competitions for Newcastle last season, before finishing his transfer to Leicester City earlier this summer.
Could Bowen be the ideal substitute for Perez?
Although their playing styles are slightly different, Bowen could still replicate Perez's impact on Tyneside in terms of goals and aids when he joined the club.
Bowen scored 22 league goals for Hull last season and found the back of the net 14 times the year before. That means the 22-year-old has an impressive 36 goals in 88 league games for Hull, right wing.
It's great for cutting from the right side and unleashing fierce shots in the far left corner – think Arjen Robben's mark at Bayern Munich.
If Newcastle could join him this summer, Bowen would be a great substitute for Perez and give Steve Bruce's players a real chance to stay in the Premier League for another season.
Would Bowen be a good substitute for Perez?
