Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira conceded that Joao Felix could leave the club this summer under the strong interest of Manchester United.

Felix, 19, had a brilliant first season for Benfica, scoring 15 goals and 7 badists in the league. United are currently facing Manchester City, Juventus and Real Madrid for the attacking midfielder.

The Red Devils would be in talks to sign Felix this summer, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to strengthen his offensive options, but Benfica stands firm for the moment.

However, Benfica's president, Vieira, admitted that the decision could be made if a rival club triggered Felix's release clause for € 120 million.

Vieira said: "We sit down with the players and they tell us:" Mr. President, I can win 5 million euros (£ 4.5 million), president, do not make me stay here. "

"Joao Felix had a release clause of 60 million euros and we realized after two or three matches that we had to increase it to 120 million euros (106 million euros).

'But it's Joao Felix and his family who will decide whether he stays or not. If someone offers 120 million euros, do not dream to stay. "

Benfica may be open to Felix this summer, provided he is on loan to the club next season.

"We are trying everything to make sure he stays. But the only way is to sell it and keep it for another year, Vieira added.

'If no, Joao leaves. There is no room to negotiate further. He does not want.

"How will Benfica negotiate with someone after receiving a € 6m (£ 5.3m) after-tax proposal?"

Felix has repeatedly said that he is "happy" in Benfica given the growing interest of Europe.

Asked about his future, Felix said on Benfica's official website: "I think time will tell. "I'm good here, I'm very happy, I love the club, I love those fans who love me.

"I want to enjoy the moment, play football, have fun doing what I love and, over time, things happen naturally, I am very happy in Benfica."
