Manchester United is getting closer to its first summer signing, according to reports in Portugal.
The Red Devils are confident in reaching an agreement on the signing of a goal midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, by the end of next week.
Fernandes was strongly linked to the withdrawal of Sporting Lisbon after a record season, scoring 32 goals in all competitions.
Manchester City is also considering a change for Fernandes – but United is about to beat rivals under his signature.
United would be willing to pay between £ 62 and £ 70 million to land his man, with City offering only £ 50 million.
After taking over, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to make Fernandes his first appointment as a permanent manager in the coming days.

In a long admission, Fernandes admitted earlier this week that he still had dreams to come true, fueling speculation that he might be on the move.
"Honestly, I do not know," Fernandes told the Portuguese TV channel SIC, when asked to clarify his future. "I like to focus on things once the season is over, when I can think calmly.
"The financial aspect still weighs a lot, we have a short career.But staying here, I will always be able to raise funds, it is not a financial issue.
