Romelu Lukaku made new hypotheses about his future while he was not taking part in Manchester United's open training session in Perth.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team played in front of around 12,000 spectators in the historic WACA on Thursday as the Belgian international was a notable absentee.
United sources said he had been badigned to work in the gym alongside Anthony Martial – but the future of the volunteer striker remains one of the main topics of discussion during the first days of the tour. club in Australia and the Far East.
The 26-year-old is desperate to leave Old Trafford after being told that he would be lining up at Marcus Rashford.
But he is increasingly frustrated by the inability of Inter Milan to present a bid for the valuation of 80 million pounds sterling United.
Italians are trying to structure an agreement involving players in exchange or an initial loan – but United is keen to get the full asking price in cash.
The last talks were scheduled for Thursday.
Lukaku is aware of Inter's interest and is eager to join Antonio Conte at San Siro. But more and more people are wondering if Inter can find the money to provide an emergency exit.
Lukaku is thought to be undermined by his situation. Solskjaer said Rashford would be his first-choice striker.
The second-most expensive player in club history, he plans to spend next season on the sidelines of an attack built around Rashford, Martial, Jesse Lingard and Daniel James.

Inter's latest offer is believed to consist of an initial payment of € 10 million to borrow, with the commitment of two further payments of € 30 million.
That still remains below the 80 million pounds that United expects – and sources have indicated that such an offer as the last proposed would be rejected.
