Arsenal is leading a list of European giants in the race for young Russian Fedor Chalov.

Striker Chalov of CSKA Moscow has been appointed by the Gunners to multiply their offensive options next season – with question marks on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's future.

The 21-year-old was the top scorer in the Russian Premier League last season after scoring 15 times in 30 games. He also scored against the Gunners in the Europa League in April 2018.

He also scored seven more goals as CSKA finished fourth behind Zenit St Petersburg, Lokomotiv Moscow and Krasnodar.

Chalov, who has played twice for the Russian national team, is also wanted by Monaco and Sevilla, according to Sky Sports News.

The leader could compliment Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette in the Unai Emery team – after the pair had scored 35 Premier League goals last season.

Aubameyang is sought after by the clubs of the Chinese Super League.

The Times reported earlier this week that Guangzhou Evergrande and Shanghai SIPG have both taken action for the Gabonese striker.

The 29-year-old is still two years old on his contract with Emirates and the Arsenal board has warned that players would be sold if they did not promise their long-term future at the club.

Chalov is on Arsenal wish list

Aubameyang has been offered a deal of around £ 300,000 a week by teams from the Chinese Super League.

He currently earns nearly £ 190,000 a week at Arsenal and would receive a sharp rise as he moves on to something else.

Meanwhile, the Argentine international Exequiel Palacios has confirmed that it was the subject of Arsenal 's interest.

River Plate's 20-year-old talent has been closely linked to the Gunners and is considered one of South America's top prospects.

Asked about his future, Palacios said: "I am proud that clubs like Real Madrid and Arsenal are interested in me."
