The Blues boss still wants to bring another midfielder to Stamford Bridge after already signing a contract with striker Gonzalo Higuain.
Maurizio Sarri renewed his wish to see Chelsea sign a second time in January to replace Cesc Fabregas.
Two-time Premier League champion Fabregas has left Stamford Bridge for Monaco this month but the only player to arrive in Chelsea in recent weeks has been Gonzalo Higuain, the striker himself replacing Alvaro Morata.
Leandro Paredes finished Tuesday his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, but links with the star of Barcelona, Ivan Rakitic, also appeared.

And Sarri keeps hope with only two days of the remaining transfer window.
"You know my opinion, I thought it was important to have two players," Sarri said at a press conference Tuesday. "One has arrived, I'm waiting for another.
"If it happened, I would be very happy, but I will not be too worried, I'm happy to play with these players."
Discussing his options in the middle of the field if no new rookie was to arrive, Sarri turned to Ethan Ampadu, the teenager, and Mateo Kovacic, star of the loan chain.
"Ampadu did not play very well in this position [against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday]but he is very young, "said the boss of the Blues. This is a new post.
"In the second half, we tried with Mateo, he can move the ball very quickly and cleanly, we have to see if he can play in a defensive game, so we can try."

Chelsea received a boost in preparation for Wednesday's away match against Bournemouth while Callum Wilson – a target of the Blues before Higuain rejoined the club – is a doubt for the Cherries.
"Callum will leave a doubt about the game," said Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe. "It's a knee problem, but we'll wait and see, we'll give him all the time he needs to try to get in shape for this game."
Howe added that Bournemouth had had no contact from any club regarding former Chelsea defender, Nathan Ake, who would also have been involved in a return to Stamford Bridge.
