Manchester United is prepared to pay half of Alexis Sanchez's huge £ 500,000 weekly salary to get him off this summer, reports said.
Sanchez has had a nightmare at Old Trafford since signing rival Arsenal in January 2018.
The Chilean international has emerged as a key and influential player for the Gunners, but has not been able to replicate this form under Jose Mourinho and now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Daily Mail said that even though Solskjaer's final decision on Sanchez's future was final, Manchester United was ready to reduce his losses and dislodge the striker.

But the lucrative salary of the 30-year-old will be a stumbling block. The Manchester club would therefore be resigned to pay half of his salary to induce another club to conclude an agreement.
Manchester United, currently sixth in the Premier League, does not want Sanchez to join a direct rival and will press for the former Gunner to seal a move abroad.
Sanchez was strongly linked to a move from Old Trafford but said earlier in the year that he wanted to "bring joy" to United fans and help the club win the silverware.
He told United Review in March: "I want to continue showing my love for football. I know what I can do. I believe in my abilities.
'United is such an important club, not only in England, but globally, and I would love to help bring a trophy to the fans.
"Obviously, I want to make United fans really happy, I want to score goals, I want to bring them joy, I want to win some silverware."
Sanchez was second-half substitute in the Manchester United draw with Chelsea's top four rivals last weekend.
The Solskjaer camp will face Huddersfield on Saturday before ending the 2018-19 campaign at home in the city of Cardiff.
