Los Blancos signed only Chelsea's Courtois in the summer, despite a long-term pursuit by United goalkeeper.

With the transfer of the Belgian to Bernabeu, it was expected that the club La Liga abandon his desire to sign De Gea.

However, according to the Daily Record, this has not been the case and they are still interested in the signing of the Red Devils blocker.

Courtois was also dismissed from the starting lineup this weekend. Keylor Navas has been preferred in goals against Celta Vigo, with information suggesting that he could be sidelined.

However, the former Chelsea goalkeeper would be "calm" against the current situation and would still expect to be the club's No. 1 for next season.

De Gea himself has been dealing with tumultuous contract negotiations with United for several months, which would have prompted Real to explore the possibility of signing it again.

Executive Vice President Ed Woodward refused to respond to De Gea's request to receive the same compensation as Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba.

His contract expires at Old Trafford in 2020, making the Manchester club vulnerable to the risk of losing it for nothing.

This has led Real Madrid to interest the 28-year-old again, hoping to sign it after all.
