The former Manchester United midfielder unveiled a disappointing badessment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's leadership style and skills at Old Trafford.

Norwegians have had very difficult weeks in recent weeks. United have lost seven of their last nine games, including the most recent three without scoring a goal.

This series of mediocre results saw the Red Devils withdraw from the Champions League and leave their first four prospects in the Premier League in trouble.

Ince, who played for United from 1989 to 2005, believes Solskjaer is trying too hard to emulate his former boss Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.

"We've tried this beautiful approach, that of giving the tea lady chocolates and trying to do what Sir Alex Ferguson did," writes Ince for Paddy Power.

"It's past, we have to move on. All this "legend of Ole" – yes, it's the winner of the final of the Champions League of 1999, we understand, but it's not a legend anymore, it's the manager of Manchester United.

"Regurgitating the way he's going to do it" the Fergie Way "is useless, it's my head and I know others feel the same way, Ferguson is no longer the bumble-simple.

"No doubt he would help if Ole had problems, but I'm fed up, it's the manager, he must forget the past and realize that Ferguson is no longer the manager, it's him."

Ince did not fear his scathing opinion on Solskjaer, saying the 46-year-old would not be able to succeed at Manchester United.

"I called before he became manager and I acted, but what I said was right," continued Ince. "I want him to succeed, but I do not think he's able to do the job."

United have only three games to play in the season to win a place in the Champions League.

The Solskjaer team will face Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday before a match at Huddersfield and a home game with Cardiff on the final day of the campaign.
