Daniel Sturridge sent an emotional farewell message to Liverpool fans after confirming his departure Wednesday (AEST).
The 29-year-old, who has spent seven years at the club, expressed his sincere farewells on social media to thank supporters, teammates and coach Jurgen Klopp.
It's a bittersweet end for Sturridge, who finally recovered his first piece of silverware under a red shirt while Liverpool won the Champions League trophy in Madrid.
Sturridge played a key role in the 2013/14 season, as Liverpool came close to winning the Premier League, but found it more difficult to find opportunities for the first team since Klopp's arrival in 2015.

What can I say …
It is a sacred walk in this beautiful club. We were together for 7 seasons and we had a little break between the two.
We had a lot of ups and downs together but we stayed together knowing that one day we had to break up. This time is now …..
I want to tell the fans that I like you. You made me feel welcome and embraced me with open arms. The Sturridge dance became famous in Anfield and I will never forget the first time I made it in front of the Kop.
To my teammates, old and new, thanks for the memories that the joke was unreal. You all helped to make me the man I am today. It's not a goodbye, because God knows we'll stay in touch wherever I am. Talk soon. For the current group of players who just let you know that Sturr's crazy sauces will still be available next season, so do not worry, the lucky sauce will be back
To the coaches, thank you for everything that has pushed me beyond my limits to become the best I can be, whether old or new. A special message to directors Jurgen and Brendan for guiding my steps and helping me to be the best possible.
The fitness and medical department. Thank you for being aware of the lowest moments but also the highest. Your time and effort for not only me and the guys have been appreciated. I'm grateful to be able to thank you personally outside of social media. Special mention to Chris Rohrbeck for his work all season. Paul Small "Smally", you have been with me from start to finish and in England's national team. Just love and respect for you. Finally, Andy Mbadey, you've gone out of your way, so thank you very much.
The kitchen staff and everyone in Melwood. Thank you for all the hours you have spent behind the scenes to make sure everyone is taken care of. Shoutout special to my other mothers Caroline and Carol. You are both absolute legends! Lee and Graham make life easier, gear boots, the best men!
Ray, Jane, Rachael and Louise. I will miss you, know that I am always grateful for everything you have done for me.
You have done everything in your power to get the club back to the top and it is an absolute pleasure to work with you. Special mention for Mike Gordon who was more than one of the owners but a mentor who gave me advice on football. Tom Werner, you are an absolute leader and I'm still waiting for my coming in a movie. John W. Henry thanks you very much for being amazing with me throughout my tenure in Liverpool.
Finally, Mike Edwards, who played an important role in my recruitment to the club. Had a lot of jokes with you over the years
I am so happy to be part of the league's sixth league win, because all the fans deserved it for all the support they gave me and the club during my tenure.
I wish you all the best in the future and more success for the club.
As I've always said, it's #ordordead
Thank you for the memories.
A lot of love
Daniel
