Neymar forced to leave the field in tears after the injury of the PSG star against Strasbourg

Neymar was forced to leave the field in tears after being injured in the Ligue 1 match between Paris Saint-Germain and Strasbourg.

The most expensive player in the world was injured at the right ankle at the hour of play and was treated on the pitch.

Moments later, he stopped moving and was replaced by Moussa Diaby. The Brazilian looked distraught as he advanced and put his hands on his eyes.

Paris Saint-Germain hope their talisman will be in shape before the Champions League clash with Manchester United.

The French giants will face Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Red Devils on February 12 at Old Trafford before the second leg on March 6th.

Marco Verratti is also uncertain for PSG. The Italian was injured in the 9-0 win over rival Ligue 1 Guingamp.

"He is seriously injured," said director Thomas Tuchel at the end of the match. "It's the worst thing that can happen to us."

PSG then published an official statement on its website, which reads: "Marco Verratti's MRI badysis was performed after the match against Guingamp confirmed a twisted left ankle without further damage.

"The evolution of the injury over the next few days with the treatment and additional exams will allow the club to determine the time it will take the player to fully recover."
