President Akufo-Addo declared that the debts had been paid and that the regime "had been brought back to life"
Nana Addo President Dankwa Akufo-Addo criticized the efforts of her government to revive the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
According to him, debts have been paid and the regime "has been brought back to life".
Addressing parliamentarians in his speech on the state of the nation on Thursday, the president said that even the renewal of the membership has seen a considerable increase.
"As of December 19, 2018, the introduction of mobile telephony [technology] saw more than 70,000 members renew their membership. "
He congratulated Dr. Samuel Annor on his brief but powerful administration.
Dr. Annor has since retired as Executive Director of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
President Akufo-Addo also announced plans are well advanced for Ghanaians to renew their NHIS membership with their Ghana cards.
