Scheduled for the summer of 2019

Warner Bros. Japan partners with developer Level-5 to create a cinematic adaptation of the Ni no Kuni Games. Composed of characters Yoshiyuki Momose and a score composed by Joe Hisaishi, the film is scheduled for summer 2019 in Japan. The announcement was made at a press conference during which Level-5 announced that its managing director, Akihiro Hino, would work as executive producer and screenwriter for the upcoming film.

Momose should be familiar to fans of Studio Ghibli's work. He previously worked as animation director on films such as Live far and Porco Rosso, as well as both Ni no Kuni securities. The composer Hisaishi also worked with Studio Ghibli and on the previous Ni no Kuni Games. The animation of the film will be produced by OLM, a studio known for cartoons such as Yo-kai watch, Inazuma Eleven, and Pokémon. All things considered, this looks like an incredibly faithful adaptation of the series.
