The mbad registration exercise of the National Identification Authority (NIA) in the Greater Accra region ended on Saturday, January 6, 2019. A total of 1,972,692 Ghanaians qualified have been registered for the Ghana Card.

A total of 581,767 cards were not printed instantly, largely because of Internet connectivity issues. As a result, they could not be issued to the applicants.

However, the maps have since been printed and are ready to be distributed to claimants at specified locations in Accra West and Accra Est respectively.

A statement issued and signed by Mr. Francis Palmdeti, NIA General Affairs Officer and forwarded to the Ghana News Agency, indicates that the NIA is committed to registering all qualified Ghanaians and will continue to Register candidates in the district and regional offices of the NIA up.

The mbad registration exercise for the Ghana Card began in the western area of ​​Accra on Monday, April 29, and ended in the eastern area of ​​Accra on Saturday, July 6 of this year.

In the western area of ​​Accra, the NIA has set up 56 card collection centers and will remain open in the 14 municipalities where registration has taken place. It will continue to inform applicants whose cards are ready to be collected by phone and / or SMS. the statement said.

NIA registration centers in the eastern area of ​​Accra would remain open for card-issuing purposes only and applicants whose cards are ready to be collected would be notified accordingly.
