Nicki Minaj re-tweets Tucker Carlson’s video on Covid-19 vaccine claims

What do you do after you tweet a testicle complaint and get hit? How about sharing a video of Fox News host Tucker Carlson?

As I covered for ForbesOn September 13, singer and songwriter Nicki Minaj tweeted that her “cousin in Trinidad will not receive the vaccine because her friend received it and has become impotent.” His testicles became swollen. Here’s the tweet along with an instant response from Vinny Arora, MD, MAPP, dean of medical education at the University of Chicago:

Arora certainly wasn’t the only one on social media pushing back what Minaj tweeted. This is because there is a lack of hard evidence behind what Minaj claimed about Covid-19 vaccines and impotence. During his late night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel pointed out that just because something happened after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine doesn’t mean you can blame the vaccine. In fact, Kimmel said, “If anyone can find this friend of Nicky’s cousin, I’d really like to talk to him. I have questions. ”Well, Minaj replied that this person is“ ready to talk for the right price ”, in the following tweet:

It’s interesting since Trinidad and Tobago’s Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh and his team actually took the time to verify whether Minaj’s claims were actually relevant. At a press conference on Wednesday, he said: “Unfortunately, we wasted so much time yesterday deciphering this false claim.”

He added: “No such side effects or adverse events have been reported,” as you can see in the video accompanying the following tweet:

Well, about five hours after the Health Minister’s video posted, Minaj then re-tweeted a guess who video, Fox News Host Tucker Carlson:

After all, when you’ve tweeted about the testicles of a friend of your cousin’s friend, why not re-tweet a video of Carlson? As you can see in the video, Carlson, who is neither a scientist nor a doctor, tried to turn the whole question around. He claimed that “it has nothing to do with the physical effect of the vaccine driving our political class crazy, it’s the last part of Nicki Minaj’s tweet that makes them angry, the part where she says:” You should pray over it, “make the decision yourself as a free human being and quote:” Don’t be intimidated. “

Eh? How many medical and public health experts have raised concerns about the latter part of Minaj’s tweet? How many people actually said that “pray over it” and “don’t be intimidated” were the issues with Minaj’s tweet? It would be like watching firefighters fight a raging hell and complaining that they are getting people wet.

Carlson went on to say, “So our media and our public health officials didn’t like it because they make a living bullying people so they couldn’t let it go on. So the lady of the mad race from MSNBC told Nicki Minaj to shut up immediately.

So in one sentence Carlson was accusing people of bullying and then in the next sentence he was referring to MSNBC Introduce Joy Reid as the “Mad Race Lady”.

What Carlson said distracted attention from the real problem at hand or in many hands: the testicles. If Minaj had just tweeted “then pray over it and make sure you’re comfortable with your decision, not intimidate”, chances are she wouldn’t have had the same reaction. But problems arose when she brought forward that the semen was a medical reason not to receive the Covid-19 vaccine when it was more of an unverified claim.
