Manchester United faces a huge embarrbadment after Academy Director Nicky Butt was arrested on suspicion of badault.
Sportsmail He understands that the 44-year-old policeman was arrested by police on Tuesday afternoon, a few hours before United came to Barcelona in the return leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, after a so-called domestic incident. Butt remained in detention early Tuesday night.
A Greater Manchester police spokesman said: "The police were called around 2 pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 to report that a woman had been badaulted in a Broadway home, Hale.

"The woman received a small cut in the hand and does not require hospital treatment.
"A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of badault and is still in custody and interrogated."
Manchester United declined to comment.
The news arrives a terrible day for the famous promotion of 1992 – after his colleague, Paul Scholes, was accused by the Football Association of breaking his rules on betting.
Butt, who made 387 appearances for the club between 1992 and 2004, was named head of the academy in 2016 and was credited with the emergence of personalities such as Marcus Rashford.
He is considered a highly esteemed former professional who, as part of his coveted role, is instructed to give the example to the young talents of the giants of the Premier League.
