Speaking to the ‘BBC’s Newscast’ podcast, the famous 60-year-old cook, who recently faced her Cook, eat, rehearse series, revealed that she would be doing pork this year.
“Actually, and I made the decision just a few days ago, for the first time, I’m not going to make a turkey – and I still do,” she said. “I make pork.”
Lawson went on to refer to the new restrictions placed on the UK for the holiday season.
While the government previously said families would be allowed to reunite in three or less households for a period of five days, now they can only do so for Christmas Day itself – unless they are not. live in a level 4 area, in which case they cannot mix with other households at all.
“It won’t be a normal family Christmas,” Lawson said.
“Therefore, I think I will feel less sad to do something that is just a delicious lunch, which takes up some Christmas traditions from elsewhere that interest me, but [does] not … make me feel what is missing. “
Lawson added that she was going to miss some things about Christmas.
“One of the things I think we’ve all realized is how much we miss having people around our table, and so all that worries about ‘is this perfect, should we be doing this or that, ‘you realize it’s actually secondary to the feeling of eating with other people, ”she says.
“I would have thought, for a lot of people, that the strange conditions we live in will make them want to stick to traditions and not add new and different things,” she said.
