The Nigerian government launched an online registration system for Covid-19 vaccinations on Monday, a day before the arrival of the first doses in Africa’s most populous country.

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency has launched a website for Nigerians to register for a vaccine.

Priority will be given to medical professionals and senior government officials, as well as security forces and those working in the oil and gas industry, the agency said on its Twitter account.

Nigeria is expected to receive nearly 4 million doses of the AstraZeneca Plc vaccine on Tuesday.

They are provided as part of the Covax facility, a program coordinated by the World Health Organization to strengthen developing countries’ access to coronavirus vaccines.
