The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that new elections would be held in some neighborhoods that were facing card reader problems in the Gwaram local government area in Jigawa State.
This was confirmed by the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Mahmoud Isah, in an interview with Channels TV.
According to him, the elections were not conclusive without the results of these units.
Isah, however, said that the electoral body of the state of Jigawa had handled 90% of the problems related to card readers in the state.
According to him, "there have always been problems with every electoral process, but the difference lies in the way the problems are handled.
"New elections will be held in some areas that were encountering problems with card readers in the Gwaram Local Government Area, in the state of Jigawa.
"The elections are not conclusive without the results of these units."
