Nigeria. Ghanaian sentenced to five months in prison for stealing books
A clbad I Karmo High Court on Thursday sentenced a Ghanaian, Hillary Rogeis, to five months in prison for stealing three bags of 200,000 N reading books..
Rogeis pleaded guilty to stealing but Linus denied committing the alleged offense.
Judge Inuwa Maiwada convicted Rogeis without the possibility of paying a fine.

Maiwada also ordered the expulsion of the convict at the end of his prison term.
The judge admitted that Linus had been released on bail in the amount of 150,000 naira after pleading not guilty to the charge.

Maiwada adjourned the case until May 6, for hearing
Earlier, the police prosecutor, Ijeoma Ukagha, had told the court that an Isa, from Karamajiji Abuja, had reported the case to the Utako Police Station on March 30.
Ukagha stated that the complainant had reported that Rogeis and Linus broke into his shop and stole books.
She said during a police investigation that two bags containing books had been found.
The prosecutor also alleged that Rogeis was a former convict, a notorious criminal.
Ukagha stated that the offense violated the provisions of Articles 79 and 288 of the Penal Code.
