The veteran actor Nollywood, Ignis Ekwe, is dead. The actor is popular for his roles in soap operas such as "Behind The Clouds", "Everyday People" and "Cockcrow At Dawn."

The actor died Monday after a brief illness. His daughter, Susan Ekwe, popularly known as Harmonee in music circles, confirmed his death on Instagram.

Her niece, the popular actress Yvonne Jegede of Nollywood, also took Instagram to mourn the deceased actor. The most memorable role was in Everyday People, which featured a rich cast that included the late Sam Loco, Ify Onwuemene, and Desmond Elliot.

Some of his other films include Glamor Girls, The Price and Igodo.

An actor and screenwriter, he was a native of Fuga in the state of Edo where he did his primary and secondary education

In 1982, the deceased actor graduated from the 39, University of Benin where he studied theater arts. He graduated from the University of Jos.

Before becoming a full-time actor, he worked as a consultant for the United Nations Fund for the Education of Children (UNICEF).

Until his death he was a lecturer in the Department of Mbad Communications, Auchi Polytechnic In the State of Edo
