Nigerian hairdresser jailed seven years

Accra, April 9
GNA – Accra court on Tuesday sentenced Ella Peters, a 29-year-old woman
A Nigerian hairdresser who drove two girls to Ghana to engage in prostitution
to seven years of imprisonment.

Ella charged
with human trafficking, had pleaded guilty and the court presided over by Ms.
Rita Abrokwah Doko found him guilty, but postponed his sentence to April
9

The tribunal
ordered the destruction of condoms and panties, among others, extracted from the
convicted by the police in the presence of the Registrar of the Court.

The charge led by Chief Inspector Grace Bandoh said that on June 22,

transported Nigerian ladies to Ghana for badual exploitation.

However, upon arriving in Accra, Ella engaged them in prostitution and
forced them to make daily sales of 150.00 GHC each.

She says
Subsequent investigations indicated that Ella had used a blade to inflict marks on the
faces of the victims and used their blood for ritual purposes to scare them not
fail in the payment of their daily sales.

says the 16-year-old girl has not managed to produce her daily sales and Ella has tortured her
with a hot knife leaving traces and sores burned on both shoulders and
right ankle before the rescue.
