Former Information Minister and former Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate Jerry Gana said Nigerians are the most miserable in Africa because “nothing is working in the nation”.
Gana said this during a speech at a retreat organized by the Renaissance group of the Kogi People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja.
He said the majority of Nigerians who are currently suffering are young people who have become “jobless and hopeless due to the” tough economic policies of the current administration. “
Gana claimed PDP was Nigerians’ only hope for sanity
He said: “In the poverty index, Nigeria is the highest in Africa. We are the most miserable group of people in Africa because nothing is moving. In fact, our currency is now 100 percent devalued. Nigeria is going through a very difficult time.
“The Naira is perhaps one of the most useless currencies in Africa today. I have never seen this level of corruption like we have today.
The former minister pointed out that the level of corruption under Buhari’s administration makes former PDP governments look like angels.
