The Arewa Youth Advisory Forum, AYCF, has warned the Nigerian government about the treatment of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB.
AYCF National President Yerima Shettima has warned the Nigerian government against allowing a situation that will lead to another escape from Kanu.
In a conversation with DAILY POST, Shettima warned that Nigerians would be angry with the federal government if the IPOB leader escaped again.
Asked about the possibility of Kanu escaping again, Shettima replied, “Escape? I doubt it, the Nigerian government cannot take that kind of risk because if it does, Nigerians will be angry. I’m sure they wouldn’t do that.
Kanu had in 2017 skipped the bond granted to him by Judge Binta Nyako of a Federal High Court in Abuja, fleeing the country.
However, the leader of the IPOB was arrested again a few weeks ago and repatriated to Nigeria to continue his trial.
On Tuesday last week, he was brought before Judge Nyako who remanded him to the Department of State Services, DSS.
