Nii Arday Clegg receives praise at launch of his book ‘My Media Journey’

Robert Nii Arday Clegg, a Harvard Law School trained attorney who has accumulated nearly two decades of media experience in the past, launched his latest book, “My Media Journey” via Zoom and YouTube on Thursday, February 11, 2021.

With a print length of 300 pages, the book features eleven chapters spanning 19 years from the time of Jerry Rawlings’ presidency to Nana Akufo-Addo. During this time, he went from being a sports analyst on a college campus radio to hosting a morning commercial radio show.

Kwaku Sakyi-Addo, the renowned journalist who wrote the foreword to the book and also chaired the function, described the book as “frank, completely free from flattery or cover-up … a small chapter in a story that is still being written. himself. “

Speaking from New York, Harvard Law School Association President and Sullivan & Cromwell Associate Mr. Christopher Mann described Clegg as one of the famous Harvard Law School alumni who accomplished so much in many different areas.

Speaking from California, Dan Tan, who taught Robert International Commercial Arbitration at Harvard, said Clegg was a remarkable and exceptional student, multi-talented, articulate, and had all the characteristics of a great lawyer. He added that he was surprised at Robert’s fame when in subsequent years students, especially from the African continent, always asked him about Robert’s time at Harvard.

Michael Waks also came from California. Having been Robert’s teaching assistant in analytical methods for lawyers at Harvard, he said Robert would conquer whatever comes his way with his will, attitude and work ethic.

Dr Tibisay Morgandi, Lecturer in International Energy Law at Queen Mary University of London School of Law and Robert’s classmate at Harvard, said: “Robert has been an inspiration to all of us. She said that determination, charisma and integrity are three words that describe Robert well.

David Dorfman, a former Hollywood actor and general counsel in the US Congress, though pressed for time, managed to join the Washington DC Capitol in wishing Robert he met at Harvard well.

Kelvin Kesse, who was the president of the Harvard Africa Law Association when Robert was a Harvard student and who stayed on the same floor as Robert recounted how passionate Robert was about Ghanaian politics and football.

Michael Doumet, a practicing lawyer in Paris, said he was honored to have been Robert’s guest on the Morning Starr after the Paris attacks in 2015 and that he was grateful to Robert for the tremendous effort he made he deployed to attend his wedding in Lebanon.

Mena Eremutha-Arabambi, from the African Development Bank, and yet another of Clegg’s classmates at Harvard, pointed out Clegg’s self-confidence and his tendency to make well-researched arguments.

World-renowned investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas cited Robert’s willingness to help with legal assignments when the former was studying law and recounted the difficult interviews he gave the author in the past.

Kimathi Kuenyehia, another Harvard graduate and lawyer, noted that in writing this book, his friend went from success to meaning.

Benjamin Sackey of Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co. described Clegg as a man of profound knowledge, great intellectual insight, and endowed with eidetic memory.

Winston Nelson, Robert’s classmate at Achimota, University of Ghana, hockey teammate, and personal and corporate financial advisor, described the author as bright, energetic, argumentative, and restless in a good way.

Patrice Amegashie, the author’s former colleague at Radio Gold called Clegg an intellectual storehouse that deserved an app.

The author was pleasantly surprised by the outpouring of kind words spoken to his audience during his lifetime. His son Samuel from the Ghana International School gave a piano recital, conducted by his brothers David and Robert with the support of their mother, Mabel Afua Yaba Clegg.
