Nissan Motors will lay off 12,500 people worldwide after the company announced a sharp drop in profits. The carmaker hit by the crisis has announced a net profit down nearly 95% in the first quarter. Its profit was $ 59 million from April to June, down from the $ 1 billion reported in the same period last year. Chief Executive Officer Hiroto Saikawa said 6,400 employees had already been laid off in 2018 and 2019. The remaining 6,100 layoffs will be completed by 2022.
